Kids and Creeks gives kids up-close look at nature

CHICO — Giving hardly a thought to shoes or shorts, dozens of Shasta School students splashed into Big Chico Creek on Wednesday in pursuit of crawdads, tadpoles and other evidence of watershed life.

The final field trip of the year for Kids and Creeks program was marked with many a spectacular find. Lessons that the fifth-graders have studied all year long became complete with their hands-on discoveries.
