Kids & Creeks is very pleased to announce our first ever Maidu Summer Day Camp. Through an extraordinary partnership with local Maidu Tribes, we will be providing a unique experience for children to learn and explore the culture, history, and environment of their corner of the world. Our camp will feature local tribe members, giving the kids an authentic learning opportunity. The camp will also feature Kids & Creeks staff to enhance the overall experience for camp participants.

Coming up in August!

Beginning 3-night Backpacking Trip with Kids and Creeks for 13-15 year-olds

WHO: Kids and Creeks is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that specializes in environmental education. Out staff has a wealth of experience working with youth of all ages, and is excited to share their joy of the outdoors on this backpacking adventure.

WHAT: The goal of the trip is to introduce teens to the ecology and natural history of the region while at the same time teach the skills to make backpacking a fun, safe experience. Food, transportation, and backpacking gear will be provided. 

WHERE: Amidst the granite boulders and Jeffrey pines of the Fordyce Creek region of Tahoe National Forest, 2.5 hours from Chico.

WHY: Star-filled skies, swimming in refreshing mountain waters, campfires, hands-on science, escaping the valley heat, making new friends, and the opportunity to ditch your parents/teen for three nights.

WHEN: August 5 - 8, 2013
